The identity of TheFatRat is still a bit of a mystery, but as a producer, he has made some of the best remixes I’ve ever heard, from remixing “Brightside” to “Somebody I Used To Know” to “Levels”. On his remix to Static Revenger‘s“Turn The World On”, TheFatRat includes vocals from Dev that will for sure become stuck in your head. The remix has the hard bass and TheFatRat’s unique electro sound, making it full of energy and sure shot to make his crowds dance along. If you haven’t heard any other material from TheFatRat I would suggest checking his Soundcloud out because he has at least 5 more hits just like this.
Lazerdisk Party Sex, the electro/moombahton duo best known for their comedic songs “Tiger Blood” and “Lemonade Is Still Popular” as well as their Storm Trooper helmets, are back with a new remix of Robotic Pirate Monkey‘s “Front Range Feeling” for the group’s Colors In Disguise: Remixed. Lazerdisk Party Sex have been known for their dubstep sound but in this song, they produce an electro-funk feel that stands out from the rest of the Lazerdisk Party Sex catalog. You can check out the “Front Range Feeling” remix below and if you like what you hear, you can also listen to the fully-remixed Robotic Pirate Monkey album on Soundcloud.
Jack Beats has released an album called Careless under Skrillex‘s label OSWLA. Careless is currently number 4 on Beatport right now and is a distinctive album, not one of your typical dubstep albums. This song is one of the best on the album and it gives you a pretty decent preview of the entire record’s sound. Jack Beats and Dillon Francis definitely make a bouncy track for their audience when they play it live. My personal favorite part of the song is the piano at the start transitioning to the drop and the outcome is brilliant. Have fun listening to it, because it is already becoming one of my favorite songs so far!
This year, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has been busy. She contributed two songs to TheHunger Games Soundtrack, had a voice role in The Lorax, and is preparing to release her fourth album. The album is called Red and is scheduled for release on October 22, 2012. She had to narrow down the 16 songs for the album from a selection of 35 songs. She has also just released the album art which is shown above. She has recently released the album’s lead single, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”. The new single is a classic, catchy Taylor Swift song that is sure to be blasting repeatedly on the radio for months. You can watch a lyric video for the song below.
ANTHM, also known as Mr. No Cosign, flips a sample from Little Dragon‘s “Precious” for the woozy “Late Night Tithes”. The former Duke grad and Wall Streeter takes a bit off his usual flow for this one, giving it a more laid back feel compared to his more hard-spitting material on Joy & Pain(grab that on his website here). This time though, he kicks some rhymes for the ladies and has a little bit of fun. You can stream and download from the player below.
