Watch: M83 at Coachella 2012

On Friday, M83 performed at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 2012. Anthony Gonzalez and Co. performed songs from all their albums including their most recent 2011 album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Watch: Frank Ocean at Coachella 2012

Frank Ocean, the R&B member of Odd Future, had the spotlight on him on Friday at Coachella. There were some technical difficulties, but overall it was a great performance. Radiohead‘s full headlining set at Coachella last night can be watched below. Accompanied by a spectacular light show, moving panels, and Thom Yorke’s ponytail, Radiohead performed quite a bit off The King of Limbs, but also made sure to sneak in some old classics like “Karma Police”. Watch: New Drake Music Videos for “Take Care” and “HYFR”

Drake has just released two new music videos for his album, Take Care. The first video is “Take Care”, featuring Rihanna and samples Gil Scott-Heron And Jamie xx’s collab. Yoann Lemoine (“Blue Jeans”, “Born to Die”), the director for the video, told MTV that “it’s actually the most indie video I’ve done my whole life.” As if “Blue Jeans” wasn’t indie enough. The second video is for “HYFR”, which features Lil Wayne. The music video is an amazing recreation of Drake‘s Bar Mitzvah that occurred last year. The video also includes artists such as Trey Songz, Birdman, and DJ Khaled. This video was directed by Joseph Labisi, who has directed music videos for artists such as Chris Brown, Taylor Swift and Common. Watch the two videos below.

 

Listen: Hoodie Allen – “No Interruption”

I haven’t heard from Hoodie Allen in a while, so it was to my surprise that I came across a new email from him today. And Hoodie was full of surprises: since the end of summer, he has been hard at work creating his first ever retail record, a brand new EP titled All American that will appear for sale on iTunes. All American will also be completely original with no samples appearing on the record, a huge change in style for a rapper that blew up the blogosphere with his catchy indie samples.

Hoodie writes, “So this is something completely new for me. I’ve built most of my following online based around 2 ideas –1. free mixtapes and 2. creative use of sampling. With this new project, I’ve worked really hard to expand upon the sound that my fans love while actually creating all the songs from scratch.”

For a quick preview of what’s to come, Hoodie released a video and a stream of his RJF-produced lead single “No Interruption”, which you can check out below. If it’s any indication of what’s to come, All American will continue with the traditional fun, laid-back sound, while allowing Hoodie a bit more artistic freedom and development. All American will be available on April 10th.
