This week has been huge for the OFWGKTA crew; if you aren’t yet familar with this exciting young rap collective, make some time to check them out. Just a few days ago, leader Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats made their television debuts on Jimmy Fallon, enthralling and scaring Fallon and his audience with their performance of “Sandwitches” backed by The Roots. Swag? Mos Def certainly agrees: “SWAAAAG!” Watch Tyler and Hodgy tear it up, as well as more Odd Future news below.
On Monday, Tyler announced his signing with XL Recordings, where he will be releasing his upcoming albumGoblin. The eerie, black-and-white music video for first single “Yonkers” was also released this week.
Mellowhype, the collaborative group of Hodgy Beats and Left Brain, have announced that their next album will be titled Numbers.
That’s not all though. Odd Future’s resident R&B man Frank Ocean has released his new album Nostalgia for free download here. The album highlights the incredible diversity of Odd Future. The album is unbelievably smooth and even features a Coldplay sample.
Hoodie Allen has released an official music video for “You Are Not A Robot”. The track, which features a sample of Marina & The Diamonds, was one of my personal favorites from Hoodie’s debut mixtape Pep Rally and the visuals certainly are a great complement.
“The best thing about this video is that it was only made possible due to the undying support of my fans: from the entire crew to all the extras who came out from as far as Maryland at 7:00 AM to help, the whole production was done ourselves. 2011 is all about that DIY mentality for me. I’ve recently taken a break from my job at Google to pursue my music full time,” Hoodie told us via email. Check out the video below.

Shad‘s “Keep Shining”, from his latest album TSOL, is an uplifting track showing his respect towards women with self-respect and goals and, in his own words, “an ode to the strong and often under-appreciated spirits of women”. Check out the music video, directed by Sarah Michelle Brown, below.
“Perfect Is The Word”, “Rocket”, and “Upper Room” have been confirmed by Kid Cudi to be the first three singles off of his upcoming Wizard album. He announced the singles and even played the first two while on Ustream last night, celebrating his 27th birthday. Happy birthday Scott!
