The Glitch Mob will be ending their busy touring summer with an appearance at this year’s Lollapalooza, their second time performing at the festival. To show their appreciation for Lolla, the California three-piece have partnered with Lollapalooza to premiere the first single, “Warrior Concerto”, from their forthcoming We Can Make The World Stop EP. Their new EP will be available on July 12, but you can download the first single free through this link or via the download embedded below.
You might remember Chiddy of Chiddy Bang setting the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous freestyle — 9 hours, 18 minutes, 22 seconds of nonstop rapping — at MTV’s O Music Awards just over a month ago. After finishing his freestyle, Chiddy and Xaphoon took the stage to debut the lead single from their upcoming debut studio album Breakfast (out July 19), an upbeat jam entitled “Mind Your Manners”. The duo recently dropped their newest mixtape Peanut Butter and Swelly, available for download here.
We now have the full studio version of the song, which you can stream or download below. Furthermore, if you’re in LA and are interested in auditioning for the music video, more information is available here (shout out to my friend Marc at Mostly Junk Food for the link).
Leann Grimes, the side-project of Now You See Them‘s Shane Conerty, has just released a new track entitled “Yeah We Up”. The track samples and remixes GIVERS‘ “Up Up Up”, which is the opening cut on the indie pop band’s new album In Light. As with his own debut album, Shane chosee to show his appreciation for music blogs and indie bands by reconstructing songs posted on blogs and adding his personal spin to them.
Listen to or download “Yeah We Up” below. You can check out the self-titled Leann Grimes release on his Bandcamp here.
All-female supergroup Wild Flag debuted the first single from their upcoming self-titled debut today on WFMU’s Cherry Blossom Clinic. “Romance” will be released on Wild Flag, which is set to be released on September 13th via Merge Records.
Wild Flag is composed of former Sleater-Kinney members Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss, Helium‘s ex-frontgirl Mary Timony, and The Minders‘ former keyboardist Rebecca Cole. Listen to the track and check out the band’s upcoming tour dates below.
The Kooks, who are returning with their third studio album Junk Of The Heart, announced earlier this week that they would be offering fans a chance to unlock a brand new song. Each tweet that contained the Twitter hashtag #junkoftheheart unlocked an additional 0.01 seconds of the song. Within hours, the new song, “The Saboteur”, was already unlocked.
You can listen to and download the new song now via The Kooks’ website here.
A couple of months ago we interviewed ZAK! after the release of his mixtape, Stuck to the Sidewalk. You can read the interview here. He recently has released a new track to kickstart the summer. “Toast” is a remix by ZAK! over the dubstep song, “Gold Dust” by DJ Fresh. You can listen to the track below and download if you like what you hear.
Bon Iver‘s breathtaking new album Bon Iver, Bon Iver won’t be officially released by Jagjaguwar until June 21, but you can listen to the album in its entirety now on NPR. The follow up to 2007’s For Emma, Forever Ago, which was universally lauded by critics and fans, Bon Iver, Bon Iver offers the same emotion from singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, but trades For Emma‘s rawness for a more complete and vivid feel. Instead of the wintery atmosphere of For Emma, Justin’s latest effort is more fit for a warm summer’s night, perfect for the upcoming summer months.
Be sure to give the album a listen and to purchase it when it is released on June 21.
Odd Future‘s Domo Genesis took to his Twitter page last night to release a brand new track entitled “Boss’ Life”. Domo raps for a minute and 45 seconds over Snoop Dogg‘s original “Boss’ Life”, produced by Dr. Dre. The original can be found on Snoop’s 2006 release The Blue Carpet Treatment and features the late Nate Dogg, who provided the hook. RIP.
According to Domo, he recorded his verse over the song last night and then two hours later, decided to drop the track for his followers. The result? A chill track from Odd Future’s most laid back rapper. Look out for his new mixtape, the follow up to 2010’s Rolling Papers, which should be released sometime this year.

Their newest album, I Was Here For A Moment, Then I was Gone, released May 30th of this year, continues the sonic progression of their last few releases, leaving the listener to bask in the somber heaviness and more subdued, melancholic moments that prevail throughout the ten tracks. Good for those chill-out moments at home when surfing the web on sites like PartyPoker España or social networking.
