On Tuesday, Kanye West and Jay-Z performed at NYC’s MOMA. The two are currently working on their joint album Watch the Throne, out sometime this year via Def Jam Recordings.

Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy Beats of OFWGKTA dropped by the Maida Vale Studios earlier today with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. While there, they performed “Sandwitches” and debuted MellowHype‘s new song “65”, as well as “Analog”, a brand new song from Tyler’s forthcoming album Goblin. The new song features Hodgy Beats and is the latest song to surface from the rapper’s second album and the collective’s first official release. During their performance at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis this weekend, MGMT joined the stage during The Flaming Lips‘ set, with the two groups performing an acoustic version of MGMT’s well-known “Kids”. You can check out a fan-recorded video of the performance above.
A few days back, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser also made an appearnce on stage with rapper-turned-rocker Kid Cudi at the Roseland Ballroom. Cudder and MGMT performed their single “Pursuit of Happiness” from 2009’s Man On The Moon: The End of Day. Fellow contributors Ratatat did not, however, make an appearance. Chidera Anamege, the rapping half of Chiddy Bang, is currently performing an eight hour freestyle in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Longest Freestyle Rap”. The rap is live from Las Vegas for MTV’s digital music awards show, The OMA’s. Watch the performance live here.

Goblin, Tyler’s second album, will be released on May 10, 2011 via XL Recordings and will be the Los Angeles rap collective’s first physical release.
Arcade Fire‘s Saturday night set at Coachella was widely appreciated by fans, with the Canadian indie-rock band returning to the stage that helped launch them into the limelight way back in 2005. As they closed their main set with “Wake Up”, hundreds of giant, glowing beach balls floated down on the crowd from above the stage, changing colors from blue to red to green.

During Lil B‘s Coachella set, OFWGKTA leader Tyler, the Creator joined the Based God on stage, performing the song “Pretty Bitch”. Afterwards, the rest of the Odd Future gang, who performed their set on Friday, joined Lil B on stage as well, while Tyler stage dove.

Just three days after releasing their new single, “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your chair”, British indie-rock band Arctic Monkeys have released the song’s music video, where the Sheffield natives act like rock stars and swag their stuff out on some trippy film. Bayside recently took part in a Last.fm session, performing “Sick, Sick, Sick,” the first single from their new album Killing Time. The band recently released the album, their first with Wind-up Records and first since leaving Victory Records.
“It’s a very personal song to me; it’s probably one the more angry songs on the record,” lead singer Anthony Raneri says.
