Listen: k-os – “Faith Pt. 2 (feat. Drake)”

Toronto MC k-os linked up with his long-time buddy Drake to release a new track named “Faith Pt. 2”. The first version of the song appeared on k-os’s 2010 mixtape, The Anchorman Mixtape, which was mostly recorded while on tour with Drizzy. Now, almost a year later, we have the second version of the track with production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. New bars from both and interestingly enough, Drake seems to have returned to his pre-Thank Me Later flow.

Listen: Common – “Blue Sky (Prod. No I.D.)”

A radio rip of Common‘s second single “Blue Sky” has been floating around the Internet, but now we have the full CDQ version of the song. Following up first single “Ghetto Dreams” where Common traded bars with the legendary Nas, Common’s newest track has an old-school feel and samples none other than Electric Light Orchestra‘s “Mr. Blue Sky”. Production by No I.D., who also produced the first single.

Common’s ninth LP, The Dreamer, The Believer will be available November 22 via Warner Bros. Records. That’s a date you definitely should have marked down.

Jupe Jupe Prepare New Album, ‘Reduction in Drag’

Seattle synth-rockers Jupe Jupe are currently finishing up their sophomore effort, Reduction in Drag, which will be self-released by the band on November 1. Anchored by layers of fuzzy, uplifting synth and guitar, Jupe Jupe tracks are appealing from the first moment they reach your ears. There’s no denying the ’80’s influences apparent in their composition and when coupled with the throbbing beats, the quartet create an sonic environment that is fit to rock a stadium.

Do yourself a favor and throw on some headphones while listening to the following two tracks, both taken from the band’s upcoming album.

Watch: Drake – “Headlines”

Drake revealed the album art for his upcoming sophomore album Take Care a few days ago and now we have the first set of visuals for the album as well. Shot in Drizzy’s hometown of Toronto, the video for first single “Headlines” features him parading around his hometown, rapping, smoking cigars, and enjoying the company of his posse. OVOXO.

Take Care will be released on Drizzy’s 25th birthday, October 24, 2011 via Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records.

Listen: Bon Iver – “With God On Our Side (Live Bob Dylan Cover)”

Just the other night, Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon surprised fans in Portland with a fantastic cover of Bob Dylan‘s legendary ’60s anthem “With God On Our Side”. Completely free of Vernon’s signature falsetto and littered with triumphant trumpet solos, the indie folk singer gives the song an extremely emotional and powerful reworking for an awed crowd. Listen to a live recording from the show below.

James Blake Performs “Enough Thunder” and More at KEXP

There are only a few days left between now and October 10, but James Blake fans can shorten the wait for his new EP, Enough Thunder, by checking out a live performance of the title track, along with five other tracks from the self-titled LP, that Blake did over at KEXP.

Enough Thunder will be out in the UK on the 10th and in the US on the 4th.

Wale ‘Ambition’ Album Art

Wale has revealed the album artwork for his upcoming second studio album Ambition, out November 1, 2011 (11/1/11). The art is simple enough, with just three elements to it: water-colored painting of Mr. Folarin himself, the signature Wale shoelace logo, and the album title (albeit in a rather gaudy font, no shots though!).

Ambition will be Wale’s first since joining Rick Ross‘s Maybach Music Group. No word on the tracklisting as of right now.

Listen: Pusha T – “Don’t F*ck With Me”

Pusha T ventured into the booth and recorded a new banger over Jai Paul‘s electric joint “BTSTU”, rhyming over the same beat as Drake‘s “Dreams Money Can Buy”. The Clipse rapper argues that no shots were fired on, but it’s pretty obvious that Push has more than a mouthful to share with the world. Perhaps the GOOD Music/Def Jam vs. Young Money feud is really going to heat up now? Check out the song for yourself below.

MP3: Pusha T – “Don’t Fuck With Me”

“No shots… (laughs) but nothing goes unseen.” – Hmm…

“Rappers on their sophomores, actin’ like they boss lords. / Fame such a funny thing for sure when niggas start believing all those encores. / I’m just the one to send you off, bonjour.” – Sounds like Push is going in on Drake here, especially with Drizzy’s sophomore album, Take Care, coming out next month.
