Listen: Frank Ocean – “Blue Whale”

New Frank Ocean is always a treat and last night’s mysterious new “Blue Whale” is no different. This time, however, Ocean trades his falsetto and melodies for a couple of chilled-out rap verses. We’ve already heard him spit on “Oldie” and “She” with the rest of the Odd Future goons, but “Blue Whale” (which seems to be an old demo produced by Midi Mafia) is the most continuous and solid rap effort so far from the Def Jam singer. Check out the song on Ocean’s Tumblr below.

Listen: Frank Ocean – “Sweet Life”

Frank Ocean drops a new song today, just days after posting an extremely poetic clarification about his sexuality. The new track “Sweet Life” was co-written by Pharrell and will appear on Frank’s studio debut Channel Orange, out July 17th via Island/Def Jam. This is the first thing he has posted on his Tumblr since coming out two days ago. Listen and download the soulful new track from the talented Odd Future member below.

Video: Odd Future – “Sam is Dead”

Rap group Odd Future just released a new music video for “Sam is Dead” which features Tyler, the Creator and Domo Genesis. The song is from the OF Tape Vol. 2, which was released earlier this year. The video was directed by Tyler, the Creator under the Wolf Haley alias and is shot as a war short film.  The video features appearances from Lee Spielman of Trash Talk and many OFWGKTA members including Lucas and Earl Sweatshirt. Video: Frank Ocean – “TV”

Frank Ocean has the whole mysterious vibe down pat. Earlier this morning, the Odd Future-affiliated crooner posted a short snippet of a brand new song onto his Tumblr. He left no comment and from the video, we’re left to guess that the new song is called “TV” and will appear on a new release entitled Channel Orange, out on July 17th. The song features layered vocals and a dark, glitchy synth in the background. The two minute snippet features, unsurprisingly for Ocean, a BMW station wagon. Listen and watch for yourself below.

There’s a good chance that Channel Orange may be Frank Ocean’s first official release with Def Jam, which was previously rumored for release in the summer of 2012. Since releasing his shelved album Nostalgia, Ultra as a mixtape last year, the singer went on to gain internet stardom and two well-received features on Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch The Throne. His first official single “Thinking Bout You” was released April 17, 2012 and may also be included on Channel Orange, although details are currently unknown at this time.
