Watch Sufjan Stevens perform “Too Much” on Jimmy Fallon here. “Too Much” is from Sufjan’s latest album The Age of Adz, which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 with 36,000 copies sold, his career best.
Patrick Stump‘s solo album should be released in February. The first song released will be “Spotlight”, which Stump has posted handwritten sheet music of. “The album should be out in February and as can be inferred from the long delay, it’s changed dramatically from the album I alluded to a year ago,” he told MTV.
Iron and Wine will release a new three-song single on Black Friday, available only at independent record stores. The single will feature new tracks “Walking Far From Home”, “Summer in Savannah”, and “Biting Your Tail”.
Iron and Wine have signed to 4AD Records (for locations outside of North America). Their 2011 release, Kiss Each Other Clean, will be the group’s first in three years.
Out today (October 12, 2010) in the United States are the new Chiddy Bang, Sufjan Stevens, and You, Me, and Everyone We Know albums. All three are solid releases and should definitely be checked out.
Chiddy Bang‘s The Preview can be purchased on iTunes for $6.99. Read my review for The Preview here.
Sufjan Stevens‘s The Age of Adz is on iTunes for $9.99. Sufjan’s latest features a new change in sound, taking a step away from his traditional folk music towards a more electronic style.
You, Me, and Everyone We Know‘s Some Things Don’t Wash Out is currently on sale for $7.99 on iTunes. The band’s debut release is a fun, catchy pop-punk record that captures the essence of the band’s two free EPs while still demonstrating their emerging maturity.
Regina Spektor will release Live In London on November 22, 2010 via Sire/Warner Brothers Records. The record will be dedicated to cellist and band leader Daniel Cho, who passed away this summer.
