MP3: Common – “Sweet [Tagged]”
Pardon the bombs from Flex for now.
EDIT: Full quality Soundcloud stream from Common himself:
Last week, Coldplay released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto. It has sold 458,000 copies in its first week, debuting the album at #1. The album has had some mixed reviews, but overall it’s a great pop album from one of the biggest bands in the world. You can check out Pitchfork’s interview with Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, here.
Those saddened by the recent Ben Gibbard/Zooey Deschanel split need not be saddened anymore. For the tenth anniversary of Lex Records, Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have collaborated with the one and only DOOM to create a track titled “Retarted Fren”. The song, which you can hear over here, features DOOM rapping over a beat much akin to Yorke’s recent endeavors.
Yorke and DOOM have previously collaborated on a remix of DOOM’s “Gazzillion Ear”, which you can hear by clicking right here.

Today is Halloween and today’s the perfect day to celebrate. I put together a mix of songs that in my opinion would be great to listen to during Halloween. None of them are actually directly related to Halloween in any way, but I think they have a very suitable vibe. The playlist this week isn’t really focused on any specific genre, but the first half of the playlist is rap and the 2nd half is a mix of dubstep, folk, and R&B music. The last song is “John Wayne Gacy, Jr.” by Sufjan Stevens and if you’re at all familiar with the song, you’d think it wouldn’t fit in this playlist, but I think that it’s a perfect ending to this week’s mix.
Kid CuDi – “Maniac (feat. Cage & St. Vincent)”
Das Racist – “Sit Down, Man (feat. El-P) (Produced by Scoop Deville)”
Tyler, The Creator – “Tron Cat”
GZA/Genius – “Shadowboxin'”
The Weeknd – “Wicked Games”
Massive Attack – “Paradise Circus (Zeds Dead Remix)”
Burial – “Archangel”
Sufjan Stevens – “John Wayne Gacy, Jr.”
Lana also revealed via Facebook that her next single will be titled “Born 2 Die”. She posted: “Shooting video for my next single Born 2 Die in a castle in France with Woodkid. I absolutely know that you will adore it. Am thinking of You. XXX LDR X.”
XV, the kid with the green backpack, released a fresh set of visuals for one of his recent mixtape’s hardest-hitting songs, “U.F.C.”, which also features vocals from Kristina Rose. If you watched Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, you’ll definitely enjoy the Joker Thugs trailing along throughout the video, which was shot throughout Chicago by Rex Arrow Films.
Check it out below. Vizzy’s debut album should be out in 2012. Hold tight.
