Watch: James Bay – “Move Together (Live)”

James Bay by Alex Shahmiri
Bringing his own twist to the music of his heroes Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, James Bay is a young singer-songwriter hailing from the small town of Hitchin in the UK. From playing at London’s Blue Flowers club, to recently opening for The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park and playing in New York City and Los Angeles, his reputation is growing rapidly. You can stream his debut EP The Dark Of The Morning below and pick it up for free on Noise Trade (100% of tip proceeds to WaterAid UK) or purchase it on iTunes.

Opening for ZZ Ward throughout America this Summer and Fall, James Bay’s EP The Dark of the Morning out now on Republic Records is an intimate introduction to a new voice in the singer-songwriter world. Recorded live at the Swamp in London, Bay strips his songs down to their core so the stories and experiences shine through. Equipped with an acoustic guitar and soulful euphonic vocals, his songs are truly reminiscent of folk legends. Below you can watch a live performance of his song off of the EP titled Move Together. Be sure to follow James Bay on his Facebook and Twitter for updates and check out his tour dates underneath the video!

Listen: Suntrapp – “All The Seas”

Suntrapp - "All The Seas"

All The Seas is the debut single from Newcastle indie-folk outfit Suntrapp. The song is from their forthcoming EP titled Yannina, “inspired by Neil Young’s emotive narratives and The Beach Boys’ carefree pop but most importantly, the overlooked simplicities of day-to-day life.” Singer-songwriter Jake Houlsby delivers a soulful acoustic number with light relaxing melodies and vocals throughout. Alongside the release of the single, All The Seas is also accompanied by a music video which you can watch here. Stream the track below and for more information check out their Facebook and website.

Listen: Mark Martyre – “Down, Record”

Mark Martyre
Mark Martyre, Canadian singer-songwriter, late last year unveiled the album Down, Record. This release sounds as if Bruce Springsteen with his raspy vocals decided to put out a solo acoustic album, modelling the guitar and harmonica stylings of Neil Young. It is gratifying to see modern artists continuing to produce exceptional folk albums. In Martyre’s words about his release, “I’ve always paid attention to the lyrics in the songs I listen to. It’s always been an important part to me. I tried to keep the music simple, and give the lyrics, and the listener room to breathe.” Down, Record is available to purchase on his Bandcamp page and stream below. More information about Mark Martyre can be found on his website and Facebook page.

Listen: Noosa – “Walk On By (Sound Remedy Remix)”

Sound Remedy is an electronic producer from Los Angeles, California, who just started producing music 2 years ago. Since then, he’s put together great remixes for Neil Young, Band of Horses, and Nirvana. A couple of days ago, Sound Remedy released a new track remixing Noosa, a rather unknown (but brilliant!) singer who sounds a bit like Lana Del Rey. Sound Remedy’s production builds up to a sudden drop, which you can listen to below. Sound Remedy releases all of his tracks for free on Soundcloud.
