Stream: Echotape – Sky Above Quarley Hill EP

Echotape, an upcoming British electronic indie rock band, have released their debut EP, Sky Above Quarley Hill which is available for streaming through Soundcloud. Along with this new release, Echotape have also recently teamed up with Chris Warsop to produce a music video for their single “Came Into My Blood” and announced new tour locations on their website spanning from throughout the UK to the US. Echotape’s EP definitely reflects their mission to produce songs that reflect their outlook and purpose. Each song on the release is flawlessly crafted with hauntingly beautiful lyrics and without a doubt, worth listening to.

Listen: Arcade Fire – “Abraham’s Daughter”

Since putting out the critically acclaimed album The Suburbs, Arcade Fire did not release any new music up until now, when the band unveiled their contribution to the soundtrack for The Hunger Games. The anthemic “Abraham’s Daughter” was first made available by Entertainment Weekly, but has since been removed from their website. You can still listen to the track here.

“Abraham’s Daughter” is set to appear on the upcoming film’s soundtrack alongside new work from The Decemberists, Kid Cudi, Neko Case, and more. Arcade Fire also contributed an orchestral piece entitled “Horn of Plenty” for the album, which will be released on March 20th. The Hunger Games will appear in theaters everywhere three days later.

Hassani Kwess, who made his impressive debut alonsgide Asher Roth and Kenny Keys on the latter’s mixtape title track “Pabst & Jazz”, is currently gearing up for a project of his own, the upcoming Ruthless EP. The record’s new leak, “Still Thelonious”, is produced by Keys and features smooth, conscious rhymes from the talented young artist. The entire Ruthless EP will be released on March 10.

Video: Bon Iver – “Towers”

Bon Iver‘s newest single “Towers” from 2011’s standout album Bon Iver is set for release by Jagjaguwar on March 6th. To promote its release, the band released a new full-scale music video for the song directed by Nabil Elderkin, who also directed the visuals for “Holocene”. You can watch the whole thing, which features the journey of an old man (and the sea!) as well as some curious drawings of towers, below.

21 year old rapper/producer Logic puts in work and flips French electronic music duo Justice‘s infectious “D.A.N.C.E.” for his new song “The Spotlight”. Logic, who produces all of his own music, premiered the music video for “The Spotlight” a few days ago, pulling in over 120k views in just five days. Below, you can check out the bubbly new track as well as its GRVTY directed video.

Stream: The Magnetic Fields – Love At the Bottom of the Sea

Head over to NPR to stream The Magnetic Fieldsnew album Love At the Bottom of the Sea. The album will be the indie pop band’s tenth and is also their first since they concluded their “no-synth” trilogy ((iDistortion, and Realism), marking a return to the synth and acoustic guitar roots present on their mammoth 1999 classic 69 Love Songs. Love At the Bottom of the Sea will be officially released March 6th through Merge Records, and you can watch the music video for “Andrew in Drag” below.

Listen: Whitebread – “Dead People Laughing (Live)”

Shanghai post-rockers Whitebread make their original debut with a live rendition of their new song “Dead People Laughing”. Heavily influenced by the styles of Mogwai and My Bloody Valentine, “Dead People Laughing” is anchored by a simple mournful guitar riff that leads into moments of crunchy distortion and heavy bass and guitar instrumentation. You can listen to the eight minute live recording below.

Crystal Castles Confirm Third LP

Crystal Castles have confirmed via a press release that their third studio release is currently being recorded in Warsaw, Poland. The band are in the studio for the first time since releasing 2010’s critically acclaimed II, which managed to receive the John Peel Award for Innovation in Music at the 2011 NME Awards amongst other recognitions. This third album will be released this summer through Fiction Records.

The eclectic electronic duo also released a music video for “Suffocation” as well as a remix of that same song from HEALTH, which you can listen to below.
