Listen: Kendrick Lamar – “Compton (feat. Dr. Dre)”

In just three weeks, rap’s new messiah Kendrick Lamar will release his highly-anticipated new album good kid, m.A.A.d. city. Today, we get an exclusive sneak peek of the album with an ode to the city of Compton. Teaming up with legends Dr. Dre and Just Blaze, Kendrick and Dre flow viciously for four minutes on “Compton”, which according to the pre-order tracklisting on iTunes, will serve as the 12th and final track on the standard version of the album. Interestingly enough, the much-talked-about track with Lady Gaga does not appear on the tracklisting, although “Poetic Justice” with Drake still remains. Cudderisback. No, really. The Man on the Moon is back.

After showing his rapping self for a capricious 30 seconds on Hit-Boy‘s “Old School Caddy”, the Kid Cudi of old made his full reappearance late last night on “Just What I Am”, the first leak from his forthcoming Indicud album. Alongside him is another new (but not really) face: King Chip, the artist formerly known as Chip Tha Ripper and Cudi’s longtime collaborator. Both artists kill it on some Cudder self-production, something he seems to be getting into recently for Indicud, which he has described as his version of Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic 2001.

With Rock the Bells on its way (we’ll be there!), the G.O.O.D. Music collaboration record looming, and Indicud being worked on, it’s going to be a pretty busy year for Cudder.. so turn the music up and vibe with the MP3 directly below.

Possibly influenced by his recent interview with Kendrick Lamar for Noisey, Heems teamed up with his Das Racist counterpart Kool A.D. to give us their unique take on Kendrick’s huge Dre-tinged single, “The Recipe”. Below, you can grab the MP3, which features the two Greedhead rappers lending their mellow rhymes to the equally mellow Scoop DeVille instrumental. Weed references everywhere, but I guess that’s a given.

New: Domo Genesis – “Boss’ Life”

Odd Future‘s Domo Genesis took to his Twitter page last night to release a brand new track entitled “Boss’ Life”. Domo raps for a minute and 45 seconds over Snoop Dogg‘s original “Boss’ Life”, produced by Dr. Dre. The original can be found on Snoop’s 2006 release The Blue Carpet Treatment and features the late Nate Dogg, who provided the hook. RIP.

According to Domo, he recorded his verse over the song last night and then two hours later, decided to drop the track for his followers. The result? A chill track from Odd Future’s most laid back rapper. Look out for his new mixtape, the follow up to 2010’s Rolling Papers, which should be released sometime this year.
