The new song, which was first previewed along with the album cover here, is a standard Tyler cut, featuring an ominous, yet surprisingly simple beat and his signature twisted rhymes. You can listen to the song below.

LA rap collective OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) have inked a deal with RED Distribution/Sony to form their own independent label, Odd Future Records. The new label will operate under the Sony Music umbrella, but will be completely independent in terms of creative control — something that is essential to Odd Future’s authenticity and image as a musical and artistic act.
Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator will still be releasing Goblin via XL Recordings on May 10, 2011, which will be the group’s first physical release. And as for the new record label’s first release? The group says that they have yet to decide and will begin planning a release schedule in the near future.

Goblin, Tyler’s second album, will be released on May 10, 2011 via XL Recordings and will be the Los Angeles rap collective’s first physical release.
During Lil B‘s Coachella set, OFWGKTA leader Tyler, the Creator joined the Based God on stage, performing the song “Pretty Bitch”. Afterwards, the rest of the Odd Future gang, who performed their set on Friday, joined Lil B on stage as well, while Tyler stage dove.

Complex Magazine believes they have located the long lost OFWGKTA member Earl Sweatshirt at an academy in Samoa. Earl, arguably one of the best rappers in the Los Angeles rap group, was reportedly sent there by his mother because “she didn’t like his ‘disrespectful’ music”. You can download Earl Sweatshirt’s debut album, EARL, for free on the group’s Tumblr. Free Earl!
A brand new track has surfaced from OFWGKTA‘s lost member Earl Sweatshirt, who is rumored to be attending boarding school. The new track is entitled “Dat Ass” and first appeared in one of Earl’s skater videos but was never actually released. It has now been revealed that the track is from Earl’s unreleased mixtape Kitchen Cutlery, recorded by Earl two years ago and even before he joined Odd Future. Kitchen Cutlery, had it been released, would have seen Earl rap under the alias Sly Tendencies. Currently, it is unknown if the Odd Future crew will release the rest of the Kitchen Cutlery mixtape, but this certainly was a nice surprise from the young rapper.
Free Earl! You can listen to “Dat Ass” in its entirety below.

Track: “Novacane”
Artist: Frank Ocean
Release Date: February 18, 2011
Label: Self-released
Contrary to what you may have heard, hip-hop collective OFWGKTA are an incredibly diverse group of musicians. The debut release from Odd Future’s Frank Ocean, titled Nostalgia, Ultra., makes this point undeniable; Frank Ocean’s music centers on his smooth, groovy vocals instead of rapping like the rest of the crew. “Novacane”, a standout from the incredibly ambitious self-released record, features Frank Ocean wearing his heart on his sleeve, spinning a tale of his confusion and frustration with a woman aspiring to become a dentist; hence the title of the song and chorus lines “Novacane, numb the pain.” Pitchfork compares his loverboy, R&B persona to that of Drake – Frank Ocean is raw, honest, and can sing his heart out. Stripped down to the core, the youthful spirit and self-confident “swag” of Frank Ocean embody everything that Odd Future represents, even if the music is noticeably different.
“Novacane” is from Nostalgia, Ultra. out now. You can download it for free here.

MellowHype (the collaborative project of OFWGKTA‘s Hodgy Beats and Left Brain) have signed to Fat Possum Records. Their second album, BlackenedWhite, will be remixed and remastered with new material for a physical release on CD and Vinyl this summer.
With Tyler, The Creator signed to XL Recordings and now MellowHype on Fat Possum, 2011 should be a huge year for the young rap collective.
