Download: A$AP Mob – Lords Never Die

The A$AP Mob drop off their new mixtape Lords Never Die to tide us over until Rocky‘s highly anticipated debut album drops on Halloween. Not only is the album artwork completely awesome, but we get a chance to sample more music from the lesser known members of the extremely talented group. The best part though? They all take turns over fantastic production from the likes of AraabMuzik and Clams Casino, while also bringing along Danny Brown and Gunplay for the ride.

Video: Danny Brown – “Grown Up”

Whoever thought I’d be the greatest growing up?

For Danny Brown‘s Party Supplies-aided track “Grown Up”, the Detroit rapper decided to take a creative approach and create a music video that showcased him as a child. In it, we get to imagine a young Danny Brown taking to the streets and causing mayhem in the city and at school, all while reciting his very own rhymes. Below, you can watch the Greg Brunkalla-directed visual and learn the secret behind Brown’s missing front teeth. You can also download the song for free from Scion Audio Visual in exchange for your email address at the very bottom of the page.

Stream: Ab-Soul – Control System

Ab-Soul‘s Control System is now available for purchase on iTunes via Top Dawg Entertainment, but you can stream the entire album below for free. For his new release, Ab-Soul teamed up with a slew of top-notch rappers including Danny Brown, BJ the Chicago Kid, and his fellow Black Hippy members Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and ScHoolboy Q. Heavily recommended tracks include “Terrorist Threat”, “ILLuminate”, and “Double Standard”.

Control System was described by Kendrick as one of the most important releases in the entire Black Hippy momvement. “May 11th, Control System, Ab-Soul. Once you get that piece, you’ll really understand this TDE thing. Then, you might be fortunate to get the Black Hippy that everything’s talking about. That’s our prized possession, that’s our baby. We have fun with that, and I don’t know. Once you throw the music out, people start putting the numbers behind it. We want that to be organic… We got music, though. A lot of music.”
