Bolm released this statement regarding the background and formation of Hesitation Wounds:
“Hesitation Wounds is the combined sound of different backgrounds and 5 hours of song writing. In May of 2012, the idea was to combine friends (some of whom had never met) from different bands and see what could happen in one afternoon. Jeremy Bolm, vocalist of Hesitation Wounds (and Touché Amoré), commented, “I told Neeraj Kane (The Hope Conspiracy, Suicide File, Holy Fever), Jay Weinberg (ex-Against Me!), and Stephen ‘Scuba’ LaCour (Ex-Trap Them, True Cross), ‘Let’s write as many songs as we can on Sunday and record them on Monday.’ Jay was in town and Scuba agreed to come out from Arizona for the weekend. What we came up with was three songs and an intro. We recorded them Monday afternoon with long time friend and always-available-for-my-stupid-shit, Alex Estrada. Lyrically, the songs are about witnessing the murder of a friend, the life and death of the inspirational underdog folk singer Phil Ochs, and the overall reality of life. Sonically, it’s an abrasive / no strings attached outpouring of fast and heavy hardcore not far off from the bands we’re already responsible for. We’re proud of the outcome and we hope you enjoy.”
You can check out the track listing below.
The song definitely draws from the band’s previous works; the best elements of which are prevalent throughout the track. The choir, orchestral element that riddled There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven Let’s Keep It A Secret returns. Heavy guitar riffs akin to Suicide Season are also featured. Perhaps the most interesting element is the melodious vocalization that singer Oli Sykes incorporates for the first time, rather successfully in fact. One can definitely feel the band’s maturation and the development of their musical style.
American metalcore band Woe, Is Me has announced the loss of three of their members; Michael Bohn (Screamed Vocals), Ben Ferris (Keyboard/Vocals) and Cory Ferris (Bass), due to differences within the band. The former members have released a statement regarding their departure from the band, which you can read below:
“It doesn’t come with any ease to announce, but the three of us have left Woe, is me.
Our differences were just too vast on so many levels: Musical, personal/moral, and professional/business.
It came to a point where we could either continue on the path they saw fit, or we could create our own path and find happiness in our own ways.
We have nothing but gratitude for all of the fans. Every handshake, high-five, hug, pat on the back, and kind word from you guys and gals means the absolute world to us.
When one door closes, another opens: and we can’t wait to see what’s on the other side of this new door.
Hope to see you on the road soon.
Much love.”
Woe, Is Me has already announced replacements via Facebook. The former members roles’ will be filled by Doriano Magliano of That’s Outrageous! and Brian Medley. You can read the band’s statement below:

“With great deliberation and difficulty, we have decided to part ways with our keyboardist James Baney. James will always be family to TDWP, being one of the most well-intentioned people we know. Our prayers to James in beginning a new chapter with his wife back home, and our endless gratitude to TDWP fans for understanding. We’ll see you at a show soon.”
