Cruel Summer on August 7th and the star-studded label is making sure that no one forgets. After premiering their new song on the BET Awards Show last night, the Louis Vuitton don
Kanye West and his right-hand-man
Pusha T have dropped the official studio version of “New God Flow”, available for streaming now via
In Flex We Trust. “New God Flow” is yet another banger from the talented group of rappers, following in the footsteps of recent tracks
“Mercy”, “Burn”, “Exodus 23:1”, and the remix of
Chief Keef‘s “I Don’t Life”. Check it out below.
By now, you’ve
probably seen the short film for
Lana Del Rey‘s “National Anthem”. Apparently that wasn’t enough for
A$AP Rocky and Lana Del Rey, who teamed up once again for the second single off Rocky’s forthcoming
LongLiveA$AP LP. “Ridin'” was originally supposed to appear on April’s
Follow The Leaders mixtape from
The KickDrums, but Rocky liked it so much he wanted to save it for his album.
Lana, who has always described herself as a huge fan of hip-hop, trades verses with Rocky on the new cut, which is literally a tribute to the indie songstress and the Harlem rapper’s apparently budding romance. Rocky repeatedly mentions, “Long hair, Lana, that’s my b**ch. You can tell by the swagger in her lips.” Cute.

Today, Lost In The Sound is extremely excited and honored to premiere a brand new song from two-thirds of upcoming hip-hop trio
THEBLKHANDS. “Live Lucid (Pt. 1)” features two-thirds of the group and is the final single from
Dominic Serendip‘s debut album
Live Lucid, set for release in early July. The track is produced by ILLA, who also produced THEBLKHANDS’ first single with
Big K.R.I.T. The group’s 2nd single, which features
Smoke DZA &
Fenix, will be out very soon.
Both Dominic and ILLA are on point on “Live Lucid (Pt. 1)”, which serves as an introduction to Dominic’s lifestyle and philosophy. Living lucid, as he describes it, is being able to live out your dreams and to create your own destiny. As he tears up ILLA’s masterfully constructed strings with verse after verse, it’s clear that he lives what he preaches: Dominic’s passion for his music and his desire to make his dreams come true shine in his rhymes and because of that, I’m glad to have a chance to premiere the track today and be a part of his lucid dreaming. Give it a listen for yourself below.

Pussy Wizard is a relatively new band with their latest content being released in February 2012. They currently have two EP’s:
F.J.V. 1 and
ABRACOOLDADBRO. I downloaded their second album a long time ago and couldn’t stop listening to the song “West Coast Ghosts”. After recently hearing two of their songs on some playlists (Fork and Spoon’s
Free Love Free Download playlist, for instance), I have fallen into an obsession with the band and downloaded their first EP. Both EP’s are incredible, with such an original sound that keeps the smooth vibes flowing from song to song. They are currently available for free on Pussy Wizard’s
Bandcamp. You can listen to
F.J.V. 1 below.
For
Gossamer second single “I’ll Be Alright”,
Passion Pit goes absolutely all out with maximalistic production and high-tempo, high-pitch vocals from Michael Angelakos. Like some of the main standouts from
Manners, Angelakos’s falsetto is on full blast with his melodies anchoring the track and then his lyrics playing second fiddle. But the beauty of “I’ll Be Alright” is that while the song sounds extremely happy and summery, Angelakos discusses his personal and emotional troubles; his first line says it all: “Can you remember ever having any fun?/ Cause when it’s all said and done I always believed we were/ But now I’m not so sure.” What sounds bubbly on the surface has a whole lot more bubbling underneath. Give it a listen below and
Gossamer will be available on July 24th through Columbia Records.
Newcomers
THEBLKHANDS, a hip-hop trio consisting of rappers
Cazzie Jetson and
Dominic Serendip and producer
ILLA, make their debut today with their first single “I’m Gone”. Featuring none other than
Big K.R.I.T., who takes over the track with a killer second verse, “I’m Gone” is an introspective peek into the pasts of THEBLKHANDS and though we haven’t learned all that much about them yet, I’m incredibly excited for new music from the group. They plan to release their first album later this year with additional features from talented rhymers
Smoke DZA and
Skyzoo.

Ellie Goulding, best known for her hit single “Lights” which has been sampled and remixed more times than anyone can count, teamed up with her buddy
Xaphoon Jones of
Chiddy Bang for an insane cover of
The Weeknd‘s “High For This”. I realize that’s a lot to consider in one short sentence so I’ll try and sum it up more clearly: Ellie Goulding + Xaphoon Jones + The Weeknd. One track. Yes.
The pop starlet’s voice meshes perfectly with Xaphoon’s light, twinkling sound to create a cover that actually does justice to Abel’s original version, something that’s arguably very hard to do. You can check it out below or on Ellie’s Soundcloud page here.
